Prof. Dr. Urs Belser, Geneve (Switzerland)

Born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1947. Undergraduate studies at the Dental Institute, University of Zurich; graduated as "Eidg. dipl. Zahnarzt" in 1972. Doctor's degree (Dr. med. dent.) in 1975. Postgraduate training in Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion 1973-1976. Assistant Professor and then, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Materials of the University of Zurich (chairman : Prof. Dr. Peter Schaerer, M.S.), from 1976 to .1980. Visiting Assistant Professor (1980-1982) at the Departments of Oral Biology (Prof. Dr. A.G. Hannam) and Clinical Dental Sciences (Prof. Dr. W. A. Richter), Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia (Canada). 1982-1983, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Dental Materials in Zurich (Prof. Dr. P. Schaerer). Since 1st October 1983, Full Professor and Head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion of the University of Geneva School of Dental Medicine. President of the Swiss Association of Prosthetic Dentistry from 1984 to 1988. 1996-2003 member of the Board of Directors of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). From 1999 to 2005, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. Recipient of the Scientific Research Award of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics in 2002. President of the European Association of Prosthodontics (EPA) from 2002 to 2003. Since July 2005, President of the University of Geneva School of Dental Medicine. Research activities in the fields of functional behaviour of the muscles of mastication, periodontal prosthesis, dental ceramics, adhesive prosthodontics and implant dentistry.

Dr. Gerard Chiche, New Orleans (USA)

Dr. Gerard J. Chiche is the Helmer Professor, Chairman of the Prosthodontics Department of Louisiana State University, where he also maintains an intramural restorative practice devoted to esthetics and implants. He has given over 500 programs nationally and internationally and holds membership in the American College of Dentists, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Crown and Bridge, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He is a director of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and is also, with Alain Pinault, the author of the textbook: Esthetics of Anterior Fixed Restorations published by Quintessence Publishing Company. He is the recipient of the 2003 LSU Alumni Award and finally he received the 2003 Educational Community Achievement Award of the Seattle Study Club for best dental education.

Dr. Michael Cohen, Seattle (USA)

Dr. Michael Cohen received his DDS from McGill University in Montreal and his MSD and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Washington in Seattle. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics and implants in Seattle, and is a visiting assistant clinical professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Washington.

George V. Duello, DDS, MS, FACD, St. Louis (USA)

George V. Duello, DDS, MS, FACD is a 1976 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he received a B.A. degree in Biology. He graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1979. In 1981, Dr. Duello completed residency training in periodontics and received a Masters in Oral Biology at UMKC School of Dentistry. He served in the United States Air Force at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida as Chief of Periodontics from 1981-1983.
Dr. Duello was named a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1987 and is also a member of the American, Missouri, and Greater St. Louis Dental Society. Dr. Duello is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and has membership in the Missouri Society of Periodontists, Midwest Society of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, ICOI, and Academy of Osseointegration.
He is the past president of the Missouri Society of Periodontists and the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. Dr. Duello is an alumnus of the Schuster Center for Professional Development. Dr. Duello is the Director of the Gateway Study Club, a chapter of the Seattle Study Club, in St. Louis. Dr. Duello has lectured internationally, nationally, and regional on contemporary periodontal and implant therapy as well as practice management. He has authored articles in popular dental journals on dental implant therapy. Dr. Duello is a member of the Nobel Biocare's NobelKnowledge website faculty.

Dr. Mauro Fradeani, Pesaro (Italy)

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 1979, he completed a specialization in Dentistry at the University of Ancona in 1983. Past President of EAED - European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (biennial 2003/2004) and Past President of AIOP - Accademia Italiana di Odontoiatria Protesica (biennial 1999/2000), Visiting Associate Professor in Prosthetics at Louisiana State University - New Orleans (USA). Associate Editor of The European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry (EJED), Member of the Editorial Board of Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry (PPAD) and of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry (JERD). Active Member of The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, he maintains membership in The American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. He is the founder of ACE (Advanced Continuing Education) and the author of the book "Esthethic Rehabilitation in Fixed Prosthodontics" Vol 1 - Esthetic Analysis, edited by Quintessence International translated into 9 languages. He runs a private practice limited solely to prosthetics on natural dentition and on implants in Pesaro and Milano (Italy).

Dr. Stefano Gracis, Milan (Italy)

Dr. Gracis received his D.M.D. degree in 1986 from the University of Pennsylvania, (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) and, in 1987, from the University of Pavia (Pavia, Italy). In 1990, he obtained the certificate in Prosthodontics with an M.S.D. degree at the University of Washington in Seattle under the guidance of Dr. Ralph Yuodelis. He then returned to Milan, Italy, where he has been working ever since in private practice limiting his activity to prosthodontics and restorative dentistry. From 1998 to 2004, he was a guest lecturer at the University of Parma (Parma, Italy). He belongs as active member to the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and he is the current President of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (AIOP). He has contributed several articles in the field of restorative dentistry and he is a frequent lecturer on topics related to fixed prosthodontics and implant prosthodontics.

Prof. Dr. W. M. Heckl, Munich (Germany)

Wolfgang M. Heckl is the Director General of the "Deutsches Museum" and professor of experimental physics and nanotechnology at the University of Munich (LMU) with a special interest in the field of organic self-assembly and the origin of life. His academic teachers are Nobel Prize winners Gerd Binnig and Theodor Hänsch. As a dynamic and charismatic science communicator he received the Communicator Prize in 2002 from the German Science Foundation and was awarded the first European Descartes Prize for Science Communication in 2004. He is the chairman for the next pan-European EuroScience Open Forum.

Prof. Dr. Markus B. Hürzeler, Munich (Germany)

Graduated 1984 in Zürich and received the degree of Dr. in 1986 at the University of Zürich, his certificate as specialist in Periodontics in 1993 (Swiss Society of Periodontology), his certificate in Prosthodontics in 1997 (German Society of Prosthodontics), and the Professor degree in 2003 from the Medical Faculty Albert-Ludwigs University, Freiburg Gemany. He is currently practising periodontics, and implant dentistry in Munich, Germany and is Clinical Associate Professor at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Department of Preventice Dentistry and Periodontology, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, Houston, Dental Branch, Department of Stomatology.
Prof. Hürzeler has produced more than 100 scientific publications within the field of implants, periodontology, and tissue regeneration and is a regular national and international lecturer. His special research interests are in immediate loading of implants, implant designs, GBR, preservation of extractions sockets, and therapy of periimplant lesions.

Dr. Vincent Kokich, Tacoma (USA)

Doctor Kokich is a Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also maintains a private orthodontic practice in Tacoma, Washington. He has published 20 book chapters, 82 scientific articles, and 48 review articles. He has given over 800 presentations throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. He was awarded the Sicher Research Award by the American Association of Orthodontists, and has also received the Strang Award (1994), the Schluger Award (2000), the ICO Award (2001), the Dewel Award (2002), the AAED President's Award for Teaching Excellence (2004), the 2005 Association Trends Bronze Award for Education Programs, and the 2005 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Dr. Kokich has also presented several distinguished lectures including The J.A. Salzmann, The J.V. Mershon, and The E.H. Angle Lectures for the American Association of Orthodontists, The Arthur Thornton Taylor Lecture for the Australian Association of Orthodontists, The McIntyre Lecture for the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, The IOS Oration for the Indian Orthodontic Society, The President's Lecture for the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the World Champion Lecture for the World Federation of Orthodontists. Dr. Kokich has been elected to Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Doctor Kokich is Editor of Case Reports for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Associate Editor of The Angle Orthodontist, Associate Editor of Practical Reviews in Orthodontics, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the American Dental Association, Seminars in Orthodontics, Clinical Orthodontics and Research, Dental Traumatology, and The Australian Orthodontic Journal. He has served as President of both the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Sonia Leziy, North Vancouver (Canada)

Sonia Leziy received her dental degree from McGill University. Her post-graduate degree in periodontics was completed at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Leziy is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow of the ICOI, and a member of the British Columbia Society of Periodontists, the Canadian Academy of Periodontists and the American Academy of Periodontists. She is a past president of the British Columbia Society of Periodontists. She is an associate clinical professor and sessional lecturer at the University of British Columbia and co-mentors the Vancouver Implant, Perio & Pros Study Group Seminars. Dr. Leziy is a member of the Nobel Biocare Global Scientific Committee and a Nobel Biocare NobelKnowledge web expert panel member. She is on the editorial board of the Journal Spectrum Dialogue and pier review for the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation. She has published in several journals on implant aesthetics and surgical protocols. Dr. Leziy lectures internationally on the subject of implants and advanced aesthetics/periodontal plastic surgery. Dr. Leziy maintains a full-time private practice in the Imperio Group with Dr. Brahm Miller, prosthodontist and fellow periodontists Dr. Priscilla Walsh and Dr. Andrea Csiszar.

Christopher B. Marchack, D.D.S., Pasadena (USA)

Dr. Christopher B. Marchack is a 1987 graduate of the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. He has received his prosthodontic certificate, in 1992, from the University of Southern California. Dr. Marchack belongs to numerous professional organizations including the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the San Gabriel Valley Dental Implant Study Club, and the Southern California Osseointegration Study Club. He has written numerous articles, in peer reviewed journals, relating to the restorative aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Marchack is on editorial review board of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants, and Quintessence International. He has lectured nationally and internationally. Dr. Marchack has been interviewed on local and national television news programs pertaining to dental procedures. Currently, he has a full time practice, in Pasadena, California; is the founder and current director of the San Gabriel Valley Dental Implant Study Club; the co-director of the University of Southern California's Odontic Seminar; and is an Associate Clinical Professor, at the University of Southern California, in the department of Continuing Education.

Dr. Siegfried Marquardt, Tegernsee (Germany)

Dental degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich. 1994 – 1996 Assistant to Prof Dr Dr Peter Fuchs in Munich. After several clinical electives abroad, 1996 set up in private praxis in Tegernsee. 1996 establishment of Dental Training Centre in Tegernsee (Z.a.T. Fortbildings GmbH) for international dental congresses and practical courses. In 2001, he became the first Specialist for Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ) in Germany and is also a Specialist for Implantolgy EDA). Dr Marquardt is a member of many national and international specialist associations and is Vice President and Chairman if the Certifying Commission of the DGÄZ. He lectures regularly internationally.

Dr. Brahm Miller, North Vancouver (Canada)

Brahm Miller received his dental degree from McGill University. He completed his post-graduate prosthodontics certification at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Miller is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, a member of the British Columbia Society of Prosthodontists and past president, a Fellow of the ICOI, and a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. Dr. Miller is an associate clinical professor and sessional lecturer at the University of British Columbia. He also co-mentors the Vancouver Implant, Perio & Pros Study Group Seminars. Dr. Miller is a member of the editorial board of the Journal Spectrum Dialogue and has published most recently on the subjects of ceramics and advanced implant aesthetics. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally on advanced aesthetics with natural teeth and implants Dr. Miller maintains a full-time private practice with periodontists Dr. Sonia Leziy, Dr. Priscilla Walsh and Dr. Andrea Csiszar.

Dr. Ward M. Smalley, DDS, Seattle (USA)

Dr. Ward M. Smalley is a fixed prosthodontist and board certified orthodontist who maintains a private practice limited to orthodontics in Seattle, Washington, teaches part-time at the University of Washington Dental School in the Departments of Orthodontics, Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry at the graduate level and the Kois Center in Seattle. He received his D.D.S. from the University of Washington in 1977. He earned a Certificate in Fixed Prosthodontics and an MSD. at the University of Washington in 1984. In 1986 at the University of Washington he received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a second MSD. Faculty positions at the University of Washington are currently Affiliate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and the Department of Restorative Dentistry.

Dr. Otto Zuhr, Munich (Germany)

Dr. Otto Zuhr studied dentistry at the University of Aachen from 1986 until 1992. After finishing his studies in 1992 he received his DMD from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Aachen and started his work as a dentist in Munich.
Several educational programs led him to Switzerland, Scandinavia and USA during the following two years. In 1994 he started to work at the Institute of Periodontology and Implantology (IPI) with Drs. Bolz and Wachtel. In 1996 he opened his own office focusing on periodontal surgery and aesthetic dentistry in Munich.
In 1999 he founded a new clinic together with Drs. Bolz, Wachtel, and Hürzeler and became an associate member in the Institute of Periodontology and Implantology (IPI) in Munich.
Otto Zuhr has written several articles in the field of periodontology and aesthetic dentistry and is lecturing nationally and internationally.
In 2001 he received his Specialist in Periodontology of the German Society of Periodontology (DGP).
